Description

 Certificate in Animal Health Production or veterinary Technology from accredited and

recognized institution;

 At least Two (2) years’ relevant work experience in a research or teaching laboratory;

 A minimum of KCSE Mean Grade of C-(Minus);

 Must be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board;

 Must possess animal handling and restraining skills;

 Proficiency in computer applications;

 Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding ethical care and use of animals; and

 Good verbal and written communication skills.


Responsibilities
 Animal husbandry: Providing daily care for laboratory animals (mice, rats, rabbits, etc.);  Health monitoring and bio-containment: observation of animals for signs of illness and maintaining general hygiene in the facility;  Technical assistance: Assisting learner and researchers with animal restraint, vaccination, dissections, sample collection and administration of treatment; and  Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
