Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field, degree from a leading university, and Professional Accounting Qualification: CPA-K, CA, or ACCA (fully qualified and in good standing with the relevant professional body). Master's degree is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in financial management in a complex organization.
  • Grant management experience with local partner organizations.
  • Experience in interpreting financial information and preparing and presenting financial reports to non-finance professionals in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to work collaboratively in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Experience in training/capacity building of staff in a multi-cultural environment

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills including supervise and supervise and motivate qualified professional staff with strong personal value systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet corporate governance and accountability requirements of host governments, the organisation, and donors.
  • Highly organised, with excellent planning, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven organisation and planning skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel and internet/email and accounting software -Agresso
  • In depth knowledge of managing grants and contractual requirements of institutional donors.
  • Ability to work well with others under strict deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organisational skills language.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and set priorities.
  • Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the line manager with possible options and solutions.
