  • University degree in humanitarian action, development, political sciences or a related field
  • Profound understanding of standards and principles of IHA and their application in the project management cycle and humanitarian coordination mechanisms
  • Structured, quality-oriented, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Independent, outgoing personality with high professional & social competence and diplomatic skills
  • Very good knowledge of English, additional language skills (German, Spanish) are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to humanitarian contexts, including those presenting security challenges
  • Identification with the Christian values and the mandate of CBM.

  • Programme Support and Development
    • Support country offices and partners in humanitarian projects in planning, delivery, monitoring, evaluation. and continuous improvement of projects towards compliance with humanitarian standards and donor requirements.
    • Continuous internal assessment on remaining gaps and barriers related to the full adherence to relevant standards and principles in CBM’s inclusive humanitarian programming.
    • Identification and application of approaches that enhance the proportion of locally led humanitarian action in CBM’s humanitarian program.
  • Accountability/ Capacity Development
    • Develop (CBM internal) guidelines and tools to apply the humanitarian standards and principles (e.g. PSEAH, feedback and reporting mechanisms, inclusive data collection, Do No Harm).
    • Sensitize and train CBM Country Offices and partners on the relevant standards and principles
    • Lead the implementation of quality assessment processes (e.g., CHS Self-Assessment, GFFO Quality Profile).
    • Act as Gender Focal Person in the Inclusive Humanitarian Action Initiative and support capacity building across the team for gender mainstreaming in all relevant processes.
    • Document best practices on localisation of CBM’s humanitarian programming.
  • Other
    • Lobbying, networking, and coordination in the form of representation of CBM in relevant forums and alliances.
    • Representation of the IHA Initiative in internal working groups.
