Description
The Field Security Supervisor (FSS) provides strategic and operational leadership for all on-site
security functions, ensuring a coordinated and effective security posture across the Area of
Responsibility (AOR). The role oversees both National Police Service personnel and contracted
private security providers, aligning their efforts with organizational security objectives and standards.
The FSS is accountable for the seamless execution of Stand-To procedures, emergency response
coordination, and evacuation protocols, ensuring a state of continuous readiness. Through proactive
risk management and disciplined operational control, the position safeguards personnel, protects
critical assets, and sustains business continuity.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or Criminology or Diploma in Security
Management with substantial relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
Professional Experience
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in military, police, or other recognized security forces
(mandatory).
• Demonstrated experience in oil and gas security operations, preferably in remote high-risk
environments.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a private sector extractive industry
(mining, drilling, or oil & gas).
• Prior experience working with Specialised Police Formations or Sub-County Security Teams
for Asset Protection will be considered an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong understanding of security risk management, emergency response, and evacuation
planning.
• Proven experience in journey management systems and convoy security operations.
• Ability to engage and build effective relationships with government authorities,
communities, and security stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management capabilities.
• Excellent report writing and incident documentation skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to operate under pressure in high-risk
environments.
