The Imports & Exports Manager is responsible for overseeing the import and export operations of goods and materials for a company.   1. Logistics Management:
    • Coordinate the transportation of goods between international suppliers, warehouses, and distribution centers.
    • Select appropriate shipping methods and carriers to optimize cost, speed, and reliability.
    • Monitor shipment schedules and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  2. Customs Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with import and export regulations, including tariffs, duties, quotas, and documentation requirements.
    • Prepare and review import/export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and permits like HCDA, KEPHIS, Phytosanitary etc.
    • Liaise with customs brokers and government agencies to facilitate clearance processes and resolve any issues.
  3. Supply Chain Optimization:
    • Analyze supply chain processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
    • Work closely with procurement and production teams to forecast demand and plan shipments accordingly.
    • Implement strategies to minimize transportation costs and reduce lead times.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks related to import/export operations, such as regulatory changes, geopolitical instability, or supply chain disruptions.
    • Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to address risks and ensure business continuity.
  5. Vendor and Carrier Management:
    • Assist in the sourcing of materials for imports based in the factory requirements.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other service providers to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure service quality and reliability.
  6. Documentation and Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions, including invoices, shipping documents, and compliance records.
    • Ensure documentation is organized and accessible for audits and regulatory inspections.
  7. Team Leadership and Training:
    • Supervise a team of import/export coordinators or specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.
