Assistant Livestock Manager (5 positions) - JOB REF: VA/6/9/2025

(a) Job Specifications

1. Supervising livestock activities in the farm;
   

2. Assisting in implementing livestock plans and programs in the farm;
   

3. Ensuring farm planning and work schedules are well coordinated and facilitated;
   

4. Participating in the preparation of farm budgets, livestock valuation.
   

5. Assisting in disseminating livestock production technologies such as construction of livestock housing and structures, milk production, pasture and fodder production and conservation, fam planning, and on- farm feed formulation;
   

6. Assisting in implementation of performance targets and goals for the farm or ranch;
   

7. Assisting in implementation of livestock production programs such as dairy cattle farming, beef cattle, sheep, goats and poultry.
   

8. Assisting in the dissemination of new and existing livestock production technologies;
   

9. Undertaking surveillance and control of trans-boundary and emerging livestock parasites, diseases and invasive species;
   

10. Assisting in Training livestock production team and preparing reports on the same; and
    

11. Assisting in Preparation of livestock production reports.
    

1. 
   

   At least a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in farm environment, in public or private sector;
   

   
   

2. 
   

   A Diploma in any of the following fields: Animal health, Animal production, animal sciences, Animal husbandry, Range management from a recognized institution;
   

   
   

3. 
   

   Certificate in computer application skills;
