Responsibilities
To offer Technical advice on good agriculture practices to out growers pertaining production of vegetables and fruits.





  • Responsible for recruiting farmers and coordinating plantings, crop protection, crop nutrition, harvesting and post- harvest handling in the allocated region.

  • All recruited farmers must be vetted and a risk assessment carried out before they are engaged by issuing them with a signed growing contract.

  • Do farmers trainings on good agricultural practices.

  • Ensuring planting is done on weekly basis as per the region planting program.

  • Ensure that the traceability procedure is observed at the field level

  • Carry out pests and diseases management

  • Implement and monitor appropriate IPM methods (such as crop rotation, use of sticky traps, farm hygiene etc.)

  • Ensure that farmers observe total farm hygiene.

  • Consider the resistance to diseases and pests for various varieties of seeds and make recommendation of the appropriate variety to plant in the region.

  • Ensure that farmers use only the approved pesticides. In this ensure that all farmers have a valid copy of the list of approved pesticides.

  • Supervise the process of pesticide mixing and application.

  • Ensuring farmers observe pre-harvest intervals.

  • Advise farmers on fertilizer use.

  • To ensure that out grower farmers’ operations in the area adhere to company policies, procedures and other relevant marketing standards (i.e., Farm preparation for internal and external audits

  • Maintaining the plantings records, fertilizer application records, scouting records, spray application and harvesting records, and produce dispatch records (i.e., the PCN) for your region.

  • Doing monthly and weekly predictions of what is expected from the region.

  • Reporting any non-compliance or any problem with food safety and quality management system to QA Supervisor/Pack house manager/Compliance manager.

  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Management from time to time.
