Associate Professor

All applicants must;

1. Possess PhD in a relevant field from a recognized University with at least five (5) years of teaching
and research at the University as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow, Grade 13.

2. Have published, since last promotion as Senior Lecturer, Grade 13, at least

i) Five (5) papers in refereed journals OR

ii) Two (2) scholarly books in the applicant’s area of specialization OR

iii) Four (4) papers in refereed journals and two (2) chapters in a scholarly book

i) One (1) PhD thesis and three (3) Masters theses OR
i

i) One (1) PhD thesis and six (6) Masters Projects OR

iii) Two (2) PhD thesis OR
iv) Be registered, licensed and have practiced for at least fifteen years (15) cumulative
teaching/industry experience in the relevant area of specialization and show evidence of
supervision of at least one (1) person in their areas of specialization

4. Demonstrate academic leadership appropriate to this level

5. Demonstrate proven ability to attract and mobilize research funds

6. Satisfy all the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution
