Position Overview
We are seeking Swahili Linguistics based in Kenya to join our freelance pool. This role will play a key role in our text/audio training and evaluation project, where we support the development of AI language models by ensuring accurate and culturally relevant translations.
In this project, you will help train and evaluate a chatbot’s ability to communicate effectively in Swahili, incorporating local language use and dialects. The first project batch begins September, requiring a commitment of at least 4 con-current hours per day for 2–3 weeks. Afterward, qualified candidates will remain in our freelancer pool for future assignments.
Key Requirements
Native Swahili speaker -, born, raised, and fully educated in Kenya
Linguistic/ Translators with experience working on LLMs/AI work
Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Translation/Linguistics and any related field
(Verification of native status and educational background is mandatory)
Translate a wide range of content
Proofread and edit translations to ensure linguistic correctness and contextual accuracy
Support text and audio data evaluation for AI training models
Collaborate with engineers, editors, and subject-matter experts to maintain quality and consistency
Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism

Experience in translation or LLM-related work

Personal laptop and reliable internet connection
Work Arrangement
Location: Remote (must be resident in Kenya)
Commitment: 4+ hours/day during the September project phase
Ongoing: Additional freelance assignments will follow, based on performance and availability
