Profile
- Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- 4 years working experience as a Mechanic
- To perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, construction equipment, and trailers to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -
- Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Assess requirement and propose in consultation with workshop manager the specifications for parts and materials needed and duration of the repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
- Account for materials and parts used
- Rescue trucks on transit on need basis
- Inspection & Diagnostics
- Perform inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to assess vehicle performance.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
- Report major faults or recurring issues to supervisors.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
- Inventory & Tools Management
- Manage tools and equipment responsibly.
- Observe security and safety measures of all tools,
- Request parts and supplies as needed.
- Team Collaboration
- Work with other mechanics and departments to ensure timely vehicle availability.
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff if required.
- Carry out assigned mechanical works
