Medical Laboratory Technologist

Academic Qualifications:

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
  
• Registration with Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB).
  
• A valid practicing license from KMLTTB.
  
• At least 2 years post registration experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
  
• Training and certification in Quality Management Modules such as ISO 15189:2022 implementation, uncertainty of measurement and method validation will be an added advantage.
  

• To ensure provision of quality, reliable and timely medical laboratory services in compliance with ISO15189:2022 standards, MOH guidelines and institutional policies.
  

• Conduct the laboratory tests carefully and accurately in accordance with the set standard operating procedures.
  

• Ensure proper maintenance of all the laboratory equipment and reports any problem experienced with a machine for assistance or for any repair required.
  

• This position calls for co-operation with other Laboratory staff and collaboration with other health care providers.
  

• Evaluate specimens received by laboratory and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround times of results.
  

• Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of assays.
  

• Evaluate inventory of supplies and reagents and communicate order needs.
  

• Maintain records of test results and archives of data.
  

• Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment.
  

• Archive and track specimens.
