Description
The medical officer will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to patients while supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiovascular and other medical conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and current practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification will be an added advantage.
- At least two (2) years of post-internship clinical experience in a busy hospital setting.
- Experience in cardiology, emergency medicine, critical care, or internal medicine will be an addedadvantage.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical care in accordance with established clinical guidelines.
- Participate in the assessment, stabilization, and management of emergency and critically ill patients.
- Review patient investigations, formulate treatment plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Work collaboratively with Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and clinical audits.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient medical records.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, infection prevention and control protocols, and patient safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous medical education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
