Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marine Engineering or related field.
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) as Marine Engineer Officer (STCW III/2 or III/3).
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ sea service and prior teaching or training experience in a maritime institution is highly desirable
- Familiarity with IMO Model Courses and STCW requirements.
Duties and responsibilities;
- Teach courses in marine propulsion systems, thermodynamics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and shipboard maintenance.
- Conduct practical training in engine room simulators and workshops.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with IMO STCW standards.
- Guide and mentor students in academic and professional development.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback for improvement.
- Support students in preparation for certification exams and onboard training.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the marine engineering curriculum.
- Integrate modern technologies and industry practices into training modules.
- Ensure training programs meet national and international maritime education standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
- Collaborate with other trainers, academic staff, and industry stakeholders.
- Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development activities
