Description

This role supports data collection, demonstrations, and sensitization activities for biomass, alternative, and renewable energy technologies. It involves preparing training materials, gathering promotional content, and engaging communities through energy centers. The position facilitates grassroots awareness and adoption of sustainable energy solutions.

(a) Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities for the different functions will entail assisting in:-

i. Biomass Functions

(i) Collecting data on Biomass Energy Technologies (bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, charcoal, bio-digesters, fuel wood, municipal waste and agricultural waste);

(ii) Preparing list of materials for Biomass Energy technologies (bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, charcoal, bio-digesters, fuel wood, municipal waste and agricultural waste) demonstrations, training and displays;

(iii) Collecting promotional material for Biomass Energy technologies (bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, charcoal, bio-digesters, fuel wood, municipal waste and agricultural waste); and

(iv) Supporting sensitisation on Biomass Energy technologies (bio-diesel, bio-ethanol, charcoal, bio-digesters, fuel wood, municipal waste and agricultural waste).

ii. The Alternative Energy Functions

(i) Collecting data on solar, wind, mini-hydros and tidal waves energy resources;

(ii) Preparing list of materials for solar, wind, small hydros and tidal waves energy demonstrations, training and displays;

(iii) Collecting promotional material for solar, wind, mini-hydros and tidal waves energy; and

(iv) Supporting sensitization on solar, wind, mini-hydros and tidal waves energy.

iii. Energy Centers Functions

(i) Collecting data on Renewable Energy Technologies (RET) resources;

(ii) Preparing list of materials for Renewable Energy Technologies (RET) demonstrations, training and displays;

(iii) Collecting promotional material for Renewable Energy Technologies (RET); and

(iv) Supporting sensitization on Renewable Energy Technologies (RET).

(b) Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

(i) Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Forestry, Energy, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Chemistry. Physics, Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Energy, Civil, Water) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;

(ii) Proficiency in computer applications; and

(iii) Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
