Description
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all activities related to procurement, logistics, inventory, and distribution of medical and non-medical supplies. This role ensures that all supply chain processes are efficient, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the hospitals mission of delivering quality, affordable healthcare and training services guided by Christian values.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field
- Masters degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, KISM)
- Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, KISM) and in good standing
- A valid practicing license
- Minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial capacity, preferably in the healthcare sector
Responsibilities
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Oversee procurement processes including sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality goods and services.
Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels through effective inventory control, proper storage, stock rotation, and accurate record-keeping to minimize wastage and stock-outs.
Logistics and Distribution
- Coordinate efficient distribution of medical supplies and equipment across hospital units and satellite facilities, ensuring timely delivery and accountability.
Budgeting and Cost Control
- Support budget preparation and monitor procurement costs, ensuring prudent resource utilization and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure adherence to policies, statutory requirements, and healthcarestandards, and prepare accurate reports to support management decisions and audits.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Provide leadership to supply chain staff, promote teamwork, and collaborate with departments to support effective service delivery.
Mission Alignment
- Uphold the hospitals mission, vision, and Christian values by promoting ethical practices and service excellence in all operations.
