Tax & General Ledger Manager

Education, Professional Qualifications & Work experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field.
  
• Professional qualification such as CPA(K), ACCA, CA, or equivalent.
  
• Advanced tax qualification (e.g., Certified Tax Advisor) is an added advantage.
  
• Minimum 5 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax legislation and East African regional tax frameworks
  
• Experience in a multi-entity group environment is highly desirable.
  
• Experience dealing with tax authorities, audits, and dispute resolution.
  

1. Oversee all direct and indirect tax compliance, statutory filings, and tax payments across the Group.
   
2. Ensure accurate tax reporting, reconciliations, and maintenance of tax records and compliance trackers.
   
3. Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies while ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
   
4. Provide tax advisory support on business transactions, investments, restructuring initiatives, and strategic projects.
   
5. Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks through regular reviews, compliance audits, and corrective action plans.
   
6. Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on their business impact.
   
7. Support financial reporting, General Ledger integrity, audit preparation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
   
8. Manage relationships with tax authorities, auditors, consultants, and other regulatory stakeholders.
   
9. Lead tax audits, investigations, assessments, and dispute resolution processes.
   
10. 10.Oversee transfer pricing compliance and documentation for intercompany transactions.
    
11. Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within the tax function.
    
12. Lead, coach, and develop tax team members while promoting tax awareness across the organization.
    
13. Prepare management reports and provide strategic tax insights to support business decision-making.
