Siginon is an African word derived from an indigenous –all weather-tree, found in the Rift Valley of Kenya. Descriptively, the Siginon tree is composed of deep roots, a strong wide trunk with an extensive canopy of ever green foliage providing a large shade. This tree offers refuge from the harsh elements be it the scorching sun or pounding rain in the tropical and at times unpredictable climate in Kenya. The Siginon tree is considered a blessing among the communities wherever it is present.
