DETAILED LISTING OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct informational sessions for prospective students and their families.
  • Evaluate applications and academic credentials to determine eligibility for admission.
  • Participate in college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospective students through phone, email, and social media.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless admissions process.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies.
  • Provide personalized counselling to applicants and parents regarding admission requirements and financial aid options.
  • Review and process admission applications and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and application statuses.
  • Utilize CRM software to manage and track recruitment activities.
  • Conduct frequent and diligent follow up with prospects and admitted students to ensure their movement through the admission and enrolment pipeline.
  • Provide reports as required or requested by AUN departments or administration through the Director of Undergraduate Admissions or the Associate Vice President for Enrolment Management and Student Affairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or AVP.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or other any related discipline from a reputable tertiary institution. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 1-3 years post NYSC experience in same or similar role.
  • Previous experience in a university admissions, recruitment, or student service is an added advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a local dialect
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with secondary schools in the North Central Region of Nigeria, particularly in Abuja.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage workflows and relationships

Other requirements, abilities for the position:

  • Some supervisory skills and training experience.
  • Ability to represent the office and the university in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that will promote a healthy cultural climate in admission.
  • Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
