Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
Professional certifications such as CILT, CISCM, APICS, ICSP, or related logistics certifications will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years' experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, procurement support, or warehouse operations.
Experience within manufacturing, cement, mining, FMCG, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
Experience managing inbound logistics activities across multiple locations will be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics Operations
Coordinate inbound transportation activities and ensure timely delivery of materials to plants and warehouses.
Monitor shipment schedules and proactively address potential delays or disruptions.
Track and update inbound logistics status reports for management review.
Liaise with suppliers, transporters, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth material flow.
Ensure optimal utilization of transport resources and adherence to delivery plans.
Supply Chain Coordination
Collaborate with Procurement, Stores, Production, and Maintenance teams to align inbound deliveries with operational requirements.
Follow up on purchase orders and shipment schedules to ensure material availability.
Support inventory replenishment planning by monitoring delivery timelines and stock levels.
Documentation & Compliance
Verify shipping documents, delivery notes, invoices, customs documentation, and transport records.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements, and transport regulations.
Maintain accurate logistics records and documentation for audit purposes.
Support customs clearance and import logistics processes where applicable.
Performance Monitoring
Monitor key logistics metrics including delivery performance, transportation costs, lead times, and service levels.
Prepare weekly and monthly inbound logistics reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
Escalate supply chain risks and recommend mitigation measures.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as a primary contact for internal departments regarding inbound shipment status.
Maintain effective relationships with logistics service providers and suppliers.
Support contract compliance monitoring and vendor performance evaluations.
