Laboratory Assistant (Post Mortem Attendant)

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect the post-mortem tables and floor on which the post-mortem examination is performed.
- Clean and disinfect the equipment after use.
- Prepare and arrange the tools used in the post-mortem examination.
- Maintain the equipment and instruments used in the PM house.
- Receive carcasses for post-mortem examination and maintain case logs.
- Assist during the prosection (dissection) of carcasses.
- Dispose of the remains of the carcasses by incineration and empty the incinerator.
- Assist the pathologists, technologist with curation and archiving of teaching specimens.
- Assist with the preparation of practicals and practical examinations.
- Work with the Sanitary Assistant (Cleaner) to keep the whole environment clean and free of vermin, cob-webs and other waste.
- Assist students to carry out their assignments within the premises.
Required Qualifications
i. Uganda Certificate of Education
ii. At least a credit in science subjects
Tenure of Appointment
4-year contract
