East Africa Ministries is a Christian not for Profit organization which has been operating in South Sudan and Uganda since 2009 to-date, with a head office in Fort Worth, Dallas, USA and a regional office in Gulu, Uganda.
In 2014, East Africa Ministries|4africa established the Leadership Academy of South Sudan (LASS), a mixed boarding secondary school, registered with the central government in Juba, and registered by the Country and State governments.
The school seeks to recruit a suitably qualified South Sudanese or Ugandan through Internal or External means to fill the following vacant post in Administration and management at LASS.
JOB POSITION: CHEMISTRY/BIOLOGY TEACHER (1 position)
REPORTS TO: HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
WORK STATION: NIMULE, EASTERN EQUATORIAL STATE - SOUTH SUDAN
RENUMERATION: ATTRACTIVE/UNDISCLOSED
JOB SUMMARY:
The Biology and Chemistry teaching is intention in order to enhance the teaching and learning of science-based subjects in the school. The teacher will prepare and teach lessons, assess learners progress, provide guidance and counselling, manage students discipline, participate in co-curricular activities, support discipleship and administration, and other departmental activities.
Preferred Skills, Fit and Experience:
1. Bachelors of Science in Education, Biology and Chemistry from a recognized institution of learning,
2. At least one (1) year of experience in a similar position
3. Willingness to work in South Sudan,
4. Must be a practicing Christian.
5. Must have scored Distinction in the subjects applied to the teacher in “O” level and or “A’ and or “B” in UACE examinations.
6. Willingness to learn and grow under the instruction of teaching faculty and in a professional environment,
7. Must have NO record of conviction in any Court of Law, nor any record in relation to abuse or neglect of children,
8. Key Competency: subject Mastery, Computer skills, Communication, report writing, Integrity, teamwork, flexibility, ability to work long hours, child respect and protection, and able to adequately represent LASS on different forums while upholding the integrity of the school.
