Requirements
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience in the field of Veterinary Medicine, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Principal Officer in Government.
- Providing technical guidance on formulation, review and implementation of dairy and meat policies, legislation, regulations and standards;
- Promoting environmentally friendly and economically viable dairy and meat production systems in various eco zones throughout the country;
- Establishing and maintaining an effective diary and meat production system;
- Managing provision of sustainable services, including research for continuous national herd growth and improved diary and meat production consistent with the prevailing macroeconomic policies;
- Providing advice to the Ministry and Local Governments on the establishment and maintenance of the appropriate infrastructure generally required for dairy meat production;
- Guiding and promoting use of improved stocking materials and sustainable natural resources management;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
