The Digital TransformationCentre Tanzania aims to strengthen the expertise in applying digital approachesin the fields of gender equality and human rights among key stakeholders inTanzania. By tack-ling local digital transformation challenges and prioritizingparticipatory processes it bolsters both the economy and society. To achievethis the Digital Transformation Centre amalgamates innovative capacity,technical expertise, IT knowledge, research, and a start-up mentality. Unlikeprivate-sector initiatives, which often cater to elites, the DTC in Tanzaniaprioritizes the advancement of women and girls, as well as marginalizedpopulations affected by the digital divide.
The project is seeking torecruit an intern to support our digital transformation initiatives with astrong emphasis on promoting gender equality. Among others, the role willinclude organisation of delegation, workshops, roundtables and outreachactivities in different regions in Tanzania. This internship offers anopportunity to gain hands-on experience in applying digital tools andinnovation to bridge digital gender divide.
Duty station: Dar es salaam
Fixed term contract: 01.09.2025 to 28.02.2026
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Assist in the assessment and implementation of digital solutions that promote gender equality
- Supporting the team in day-to-day activities such as logistical support during events, partner travel, meetings, minutes of the meetings compilation, online research, etc.
- Participate in the organization and implementation of both physical and virtual events
- Actively participating in the virtual and physical events on behalf of Advisors and program management
- Support in developing tools, guidelines, background material, working papers and tables for the project events
- Support in the design and analysis of gender-responsive digital programs.
- Accompanies the advisors to meetings with Project beneficiaries and partners, if applicable
- Collaborate with partners to ensure gender inclusion in digital strategies
- Supporting the external and internal communication of the projects, including social media and through the development of articles on events and outreach and communication materials
Requirements:
- Higher education in Development studies, Business, Social Work, IT, Management or related fields
- Understanding of digital trends, gender policy frameworks, and governance structures.
- Experience in event planning and project coordination
- Familiar with simple business operations and compliance
- Experience with stakeholder management
- Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in English and Swahili (written and spoken)
Additional Requirements:
The internship is for a period of six months
Theintern will receive a stipend in accordance with GIZ’s internship policy
