Project Assistant - Promotion of Climate Resilient for Food Security Project (CFSP)
Description
The Promoting Climate Resilient Food Security in Jubaland project, funded by BMZ, was launched in October 2023. The project seeks to improve the preconditions for implementing climate adaptation strategies that enhance food security. The initiative focuses on three key fields of action:
- Climate-Smart Agriculture & Risk Management: Improving access to nutrient-rich foods for vulnerable households.
- Income Generation: Enhancing the financial resources of households in target communities.
- Institutional Capacity for Affordable & Safe Drinking Water: Strengthening institutions to manage safe drinking water supplies for target communities.
The project is implemented in Kismayo and Baidoa in Somalia.
The assistant will be based in Nairobi and will support the project team primarily with documentation and data management.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
1. Monitoring
Support the implementation of the project’s M&E framework, including indicators, data collection tools, and reporting schedules
Coordinate and oversee routine data collection from implementing partners and field
teams, ensuring data quality and completeness.Clean, validate, analyze, and visualize project data using Excel and other relevant
data tools.Contribute to the preparation of monitoring reports, dashboards, and summaries for
internal management and donor reporting.
2. Database and Knowledge Management
Support the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of project databases and
digital filing systemsPrepare and update knowledge products such as presentations, briefs, factsheets, and
internal guidance notes.Support the organization and accessibility of project knowledge for internal and
external stakeholders.
3. Technical and Operational Project Support
Provide technical support to the planning, implementation, and follow-up of project
activities, including trainings, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.Coordinate logistical and technical preparations for events, including participant lists,
data capture, and post-event documentation.Support the preparation of technical inputs for project planning, reviews, and learning events.
6. Other Duties
Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the CFSP Project Manager or technical advisors
Qualifications:
A degree in social science, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
A diploma with 2 years of relevant experience. And experience in livelihood and
food security is an added advantage.Basic knowledge of project management and technical documentation processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
