About the Role
A leading MICE & Hospitality company in Naivasha is seeking a proactive, commercially minded, and results-driven Procurement Officer to join its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, supplies, equipment, and services while ensuring competitive pricing, quality, timely delivery, and compliance with established procurement procedures.
This is a hands-on role for a procurement professional who understands the pace and demands of hospitality and can effectively manage suppliers, control costs, and support seamless hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices, quality products, and favorable terms.
- Procure hotel, Food & Beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and general operational supplies.
- Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct regular market surveys and price comparisons to ensure value for money.
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate closely with Stores, Finance, and departmental heads to meet operational purchasing requirements.
- Monitor stock requirements and support timely replenishment to avoid operational shortages.
- Verify the quality, quantity, and specifications of delivered goods.
- Support procurement for equipment, furniture, and other capital expenditure requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare relevant reports.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or guest experience.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, financial controls, and approved budgets.
Requirements- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Supplies Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in procurement/purchasing, preferably within a hotel, lodge, resort, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Strong experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, purchasing, and cost management.
- Good knowledge of procurement procedures, inventory management, and supplier payment processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with procurement, inventory, accounting, or hotel management systems is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the Naivasha/Nakuru supplier market will be an added advantage.
