Job Brief
Maintains and keeps all automatic flushing valves etc. operational
Maintains and keeps clean all fat traps with kitchen areas
Ensures regular maintenance and chemicals are used for cleaning existing soil and stack pipes
All roof level ventilation vent pipes, also roof rainwater outlets are kept clear at all times
Carries out planned and preventive maintenance schedules to all. Sanitary ware and associated pipe work valves etc
Ensures correct communication and coordination between the junior and senior team
members is maintained at all times
Ensures that the work done is according to the specified standards
Ensures that all related tools are in safe place and in good working condition
Follows the preventive maintenance chart strictly and maintains records for future
reference
Coordinates with other departments’ counterparts and ensures their satisfaction on quality and progress and creates healthy inter-department relationship
Knows the emergency procedures in the hotel and what to do in case of fire
Undergoes cross-section training of engineering department for capacity building in all areas
Knows all rules and regulations of fire and health and safety to be standby in case of emergencies i.e. power cuts, evacuations and related catastrophes
Monitors planned maintenance against bar chart on a weekly basis
Communicates to Supervisor and Chief Engineer on the administration problems within the department
Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety
Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures
Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of
work required
Maintains accurate logs and records as required giving reports when required
Handles guest problems and complaints effectively while providing exceptional customer
service
Displays leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations
Understands and utilizes business information to manage everyday operations and generate innovative solutions to approach team, business, and administrative challenges
Helps establish priorities for total property maintenance needs
Ensures on-going communication occurs in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives, awareness of expectations and recognition of exemplary performance
Strives to improve service performance while providing feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
Attends training in order to build on capabilities to execute effectively and efficiently
Helps ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
