  • Must have a BSc. or B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must have 3-5 years of power plant-based experience.
  • Experience in control room operations in a wind power plant is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of contractual issues related to plant operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in electrical equipment testing and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using computers and software applications.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Availability for rotating shift work, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities

  • Operate wind turbines and balance plant equipment from the control room using SCADA systems.
  • Coordinate with the KPLC National Control Centre to optimize power output.
  • Record and adjust plant operating parameters for safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct substation equipment isolation following lock out tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Assist in implementing maintenance plans and restoring generation after disruptions.
  • Prepare daily wind farm performance reports.
  • Operate the 33/220kV substation and associated auxiliaries.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team for job safety analysis.
  • Perform tests on critical systems as necessary to ensure availability.
  • Respond to directives and abnormal conditions promptly.
  • Issue and track maintenance work permits.
