About UsWe are a fast-growing retail SME specializing in consumer electronics, home appliances, and smart gadgets. With a rapidly expanding footprint of branches across Kenya, we are committed to making high-quality tech accessible to every household. To support our national expansion and optimize our operations, we are scaling our Business Intelligence team and looking for 6 highly motivated Junior Data Analysts to help us turn raw data into actionable retail strategies.
The RoleAs a Junior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our commercial, inventory, and branch operations teams. You will be responsible for extracting, cleaning, and analyzing data from our nationwide Point-of-Sale (POS) and inventory systems. Your insights will directly influence how we stock our electronics, run promotional campaigns, and measure individual branch performance across the country.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Branch Performance: Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales data across all national branches to identify top-performing product categories (e.g., TVs, refrigerators, mobile devices) and regional sales trends.
Inventory Optimization: Monitor stock levels and movement velocity to assist the procurement team in preventing stockouts of fast-moving appliances and reducing overstock of slow-moving inventory.
Data Cleaning & Management: Extract, clean, and organize raw operational data from retail POS systems and ERP software to ensure reporting accuracy.
Dashboarding & Reporting: Assist in designing, building, and maintaining automated visual dashboards (using Power BI or Tableau) for branch managers and executive leadership.
Customer Insights: Analyze customer purchase patterns, loyalty program data, and warranty registrations to help the marketing team tailor localized promotions.
Ad-Hoc Analysis: Support the Senior Data Analyst and management with on-demand data requests to solve immediate retail bottlenecks.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related analytical field.
0–2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role (internships and strong academic projects will be considered).
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query, basic macros).
Familiarity with SQL for database querying and data extraction.
Exposure to data visualization and BI tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio.
Strong numerical reasoning and an inherent curiosity for solving business problems.
Ability to translate technical data into simple, business-friendly language.
A basic understanding of the Kenyan retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) landscape is a strong added advantage.
