Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in KRN, KRCHN, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
- Higher Diploma in Ophthalmic Care Nursing or any other certification in Ophthalmic Nursing Care will be an advantage.
- Valid Nursing practice license
- At least 3 years acute care hospital working experience.
- Minimum 1-year clinical experience eye care clinic.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, administrative & customer care skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with eye conditions in clinic and procedural areas
- Assist ophthalmologists during diagnostic and minor surgical procedures (e.g., slit lamp exams, visual field tests, intravitreal injections)
- Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures, including pre- and post-operative care
- Conduct and document visual acuity assessments and basic eye examinations
- Administer ophthalmic medications and monitor patient response
- Educate patients and families on eye care, treatment plans, and medication use
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards in all procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of ophthalmic equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) activities.
- Assist ophthalmologists during eye examinations and surgical procedures
