Description
The Board Treasurer provides financial oversight and expertise to ensure Akili
Dada's financial sustainability, integrity, and regulatory compliance. This role is
essential as the organization scales its operations and strengthens its governance
structures to support long-term impact across Akili Dada’s programs and strategic
priorities.


Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional qualification in finance, accounting, audit, or related field (CPA,

  • ACCA, or equivalent)

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial management,

  • preferably within the non-profit sector

  • Strong understanding of non-profit financial management, compliance, and

  • reporting requirements

  • Proven experience with organizational risk management and internal controls

  • An understanding of girls' education, women's economic empowerment, or

  • leadership development sectors is preferred


Responsibilities
  • Chair the Finance Committee and provide strategic oversight on financial

  • governance

  • Ensure the board fulfills its fiduciary responsibilities and maintains robust

  • financial oversight mechanisms

  • Review and present quarterly financial reports to the board, highlighting key

  • trends and governance implications

  • Lead board review and approval of the annual budget and financial policies

  • Oversee the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all regulatory and

  • governance requirements

  • Lead board-level risk assessment and oversight, ensuring effective risk

  • management frameworks are in place

  • Provide strategic guidance on financial sustainability and long-term planning

  • Advise the board on resource allocation decisions aligned with strategic

  • priorities
