We are seeking a high-energy, experienced US Freight Truck Dispatcher based in Nairobi to manage end-to-end long-haul logistics operations across North America. In this role, you will be directly responsible for sourcing high-yielding freight, negotiating Rate Confirmations (Ratecons) with US brokers, keeping drivers moving efficiently, and tracking real-time transit status during active US business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Load Sourcing & Rate Negotiation: Actively search US load boards (DAT One, Truckstop) to source, negotiate, and book high-RPM (Rate Per Mile) loads for long-haul drivers across Dry Van, Reefer, or Flatbed equipment.
  

• Driver Dispatch & Management: Issue clear dispatch instructions, plan optimal transit routes, monitor HOS (Hours of Service) via ELDs, and resolve on-the-road delays.
  

• Broker & Shipper Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with US freight brokers, perform check-calls, and negotiate detention, layover, or TONU pay when necessary.
  

• Operational Documentation: Verify rate confirmations, stamped Bills of Lading (BOL), and Proof of Delivery (POD) documents. Input all load data accurately into our Transportation Management System (TMS).
  

Candidate Experience and Knowledge

• 1+ years of hands-on experience or knowledge dispatching US long-haul / Over-The-Road (OTR) freight.
  

• Usage of DAT One and Truckstop.com load boards.
  

• Deep understanding of US geography, major freight corridors, DOT/FMCSA rules, and HOS compliance regulations.
  

• Flawless English communication (spoken and written) with strong confidence negotiating directly with US freight brokers over the phone.
  

• Full availability to work the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EAT night shift reliably.
  

• Proficiency with TMS platforms (e.g., Rose Rocket, McLeod, Samsara) and spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel).
