Accounts Assistant

Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to support our finance department. In this entry-level capacity, you will handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, invoice processing, data entry, and routine financial recordkeeping. This position offers excellent growth potential for an individual eager to start a career in finance or accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
• Enter daily financial records, vendor invoices, expense reports, and receipts into accounting software.
• Assist with monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare, sort, and organize supporting financial documentation and digital files.
• Help follow up on outstanding receivables and assist in vendor payment processing.
• Assist senior accounting staff with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Answer basic routine billing or payment inquiries from clients and suppliers.

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or foundational accounting certifications such as CPA Section 1/Foundations or ACCA Level 1).
• Strong basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles (debits, credits, general ledger, balance sheets).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, sorting) and general spreadsheet navigation.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or ERP modules) is advantageous.
• Exceptional numerical accuracy and high attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial data.
