Job Summary
To drive new business sales targets through all channels. The role works with Administrators, Brokers and Independent/tied Agencies as well as direct clients, through relationship building and timely support.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and fulfil clients’ needs through products understanding and making recommendations to the sales team on business acquisition opportunities.
- Ensure a culture of effective and efficient service delivery to customers within the Group Life team to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.
- Provide technical support to Group Life & Pension Schemes distribution channels to enhance business acquisitions to meet organizational growth objectives.
- Support the agents and intermediaries in preparing tender documents in alignment with tender requirements.
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new business (documentation).
- Implement the credit control policy within Group Life Schemes to ensure revenue collection.
- Effectively improve the risk exposure to deliver greater shareholder value within set limits.
- Maintain and promote effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Provide relevant and accurate management information to all relevant stakeholders in order to support business growth objectives.
- Concentrate on all lines of business: Brokers, Agents, Direct, and Affinity by providing quotes.
- Gather market intelligence, issue quotes, make sure they are competitive, and follow up with prospects for closure.
- Do member education and training on our products for intermediaries, prospects, and existing clients.
- Organise a reward programme and bonding sessions.
- Enhance cross-selling across GLA clients and achieve organic growth in the existing GLA portfolio.
- Analyse and update contracts related to group risk schemes; review treaties, recommend amendments/endorsements, and review of treaty effect on the business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (insurance option preferred), Actuarial Science or Business-related.
- Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII or AIIK).
Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in life insurance or similar experience in a reputable organization.
Competencies
- In-depth understanding of insurance operations and concepts.
- Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of business acquisition processes.
- Knowledge of underwriting and claims procedures.
- Customer service skills.
- Adhering to principles and values.
- Delivering results and meeting customer expectations.
