Position Overview

This is a senior management providing overall leadership to customer acquisition, sales and logistics roles of the company. The role holder will participate in strategic objective setting sessions and also drive organization success through hands-on management of key performance targets delivery processes.


Main focus areas will include cost benefit analysis for business sense, market research, selling and negotiation, Customer relationship management across all key accounts, and pitching of the Sparepap value proposition. (S)He must find ways to ensure operational profitability is taken care of as a priority and escalate areas of immediate attention or support to the CEO. To succeed in this role the incumbent must have an entrepreneur mindset, skilled negotiator, brand ambassador, technically fit to undertake pre-sales functions and a savvy business connector and a result driver.

As a leader, he or she will serve as a coach to the team and be responsible for ensuring overall employee satisfaction and productivity, in order to deliver strategic and operational business excellence.

1. Sales Prospecting and Revenue Generation

  • Own sales plans and ensuring sales targets and accounts are met and closed consistently.

  • Review agreements, tendered business commercial data to ensure Sparepap policy is adhered to

  • Implement an effective sales pipeline and lead tracking process to maximize on conversion rate.

  • Responsible for researching, prospecting, and qualifying leads before engaging in a business proposal.

  • Audit market trends and competitors to carve out and develop the Company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators (i.e. Engagement plans for competitors/ target market).

  • Deliver sales pitches to high-level executives and clients

  • Keeping a close eye on the sales activities of competitors and utilizing market research ideas where appropriate

  • Define and align the go-to-market strategy for each solution and appropriately execute a sales plan with the on ground sales team.

  • Bid and proposal preparation and submission


2. Marketing and Operations

  • Approve commercial budget in consultation with the CEO

  • Design business plans for execution purposes in consultation with the CEO

  • Re-engineer marketing collaterals to position the bigger strategic picture of Sparepap

  • Responsible for profit and loss of the vertical driven through acquisition, sales & marketing

  • Support in the recruitment/replacement of team members to onboard high quality talent

  • Participate in key events within the company that progressively advances the strategic focus initiatives/priorities

  • Champion safety rules and compliances requirements as per industry standards

  • Track efficiency and productivity through comeback reports, warranty reports, telephone surveys and monthly forecasts.

3. Relationship and Partnership management

  • Use and expand existing industry networks/contacts to generate new business

  • Build effective partnerships internally and externally to drive business and position SparePap in the market.

  • Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets

  • Represent the business at trade fairs and networking events

  • Maximizing on new business development opportunities and keeping a close watch on the customer base

4. Reporting and Customer management

  • Write reports and make presentations to customers and senior management as assigned

  • Budget consolidation and presentation

  • CRM reporting and updating for competitive advantage

  • Streamline and optimize the internal processes to maximize customer satisfaction, partner engagement and team productivity

  • Negotiate agreements for contracts with customers to drive Company revenues

  • Conduct client satisfaction surveys and generate analytical reports.

  • Implement best practice in sales techniques throughout the department.

Experience Profile

  • Degree in business, MBA is an added advantage

  • 5+ years of experience in a fast paced environment, with a minimum 2 years experience in commercializing strategies .
