The Medical Specialists (Cardiothoracic Surgery) are responsible to the Head ofDepartment in the provision of specialized diagnostic, curative, rehabilitative andpreventive health care services to the population under their care; they are entrusted toprovide quality health care services.
Qualifications and Experience
a) Master of Medicine in Cardiothoracic and vascular Surgery or equivalent qualification
from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists
Council;
b) Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB.) degree or equivalent qualification from
an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
c) Specialist recognition certificate in Cardiothoracic Surgery from the Kenya Medical
Practitioners’ and Dentist Council; However, candidates with interest in Cardiothoracic
Surgery and have finished Mmed and are undergoing pre-KMPDC registration
attachment are encouraged to apply;
d) Registration Certificate by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council;
e) Valid practicing license in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Kenya Medical Practitioners
and Dentists Council;
