Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in contracts and procurement management, preferably in the Upstream oil & gas industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts and managing supplier relationships.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strategic Procurement skills required within the oil and gas sector.
  • Ability to exploit opportunities to gain best value in procurement and supplier management.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and experience of diverse range of markets and commodities in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proficient in design, implementation, and management of inventory control systems.
  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships, global logistics management.
  • Good understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance and commercial issues
  • High level of commercial awareness and fully developed analytical skills in terms of contractual costs and risk allocation.
  • Full understanding of current procurement/contract legislations and the compliance requirements in terms of Supply chain
  • Solid understanding of the oil and gas industry supply chain market and the contracting principles and practices
  • Good understanding of procurement processes and procedures, tender preparation, administration, negotiation, and evaluation

  • The Contracts & Procurements will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers and service providers, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • The Contracts & Procurements will play a crucial role in optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in our operations.

Duties

  • Identify potential bidders for goods and/or services required and execute vendor prequalification. Develop and maintain a database of prequalified vendors for related goods and/or services.
  • Prepare and administer all tenders for goods and services after receipt of approval. Prepare and undertake tender commercial evaluations post-receipt of tenders, draft and coordinate formal award recommendations and present to senior management.
  • Propose and implement sound commercial strategies to address business needs and deliver value to the organization.
  • Draft appropriate contractual and commercial terms and conditions using Company’s approved template (and input from legal, insurance, finance, health safety and environment and technical units) to best serve and protect Company’s interests.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with project managers and contractors. Maintain and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to secure cost-effective contractual terms.
  • Evaluate variation orders on their commercial implications based on a good overview and knowledge of terms and conditions in the contract.
  • Assess the commercial merits of claims and coordinate legal, Insurance, Tax, Treasury etc. expert advice.
  • Ensure that all contracting policies and procedures are applied and that all applicable laws are complied with.
  • Promote commercial awareness and sound contracting principles within the organization.
  • Perform regular supplier performance evaluation exercises to promote continuous improvement in service delivery.
