Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field
- Professional at music Instruments (violin, piano, trumpet, saxophone e.t.c)
- Proven experience as a Music Teacher in a school or private setting
- Proficiency in multiple musical instruments and strong vocal abilities
- In-depth knowledge of music theory, history, and various genres and styles
- Experience in conducting choirs, bands, or orchestras
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong curriculum development and lesson planning abilities
- Familiarity with music technology and relevant software
- Patient and supportive teaching approach with the ability to adapt to different learning styles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity in designing engaging and interactive music lessons
- Familiarity with Nigerian music and cultural traditions is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging music curriculum for students of different age groups and skill levels
- Teach music theory, history, and appreciation to enhance students' overall musical knowledge
- Provide individual and group instruction on various musical instruments and vocal techniques
- Organize and conduct school choirs, bands, and orchestras for performances and competitions
- Plan and coordinate music events, recitals, and concerts throughout the academic year
- Assess and evaluate students' musical progress, providing constructive feedback and support
- Maintain a well-organized and safe learning environment for all music classes
- Stay updated on current music education trends and incorporate new teaching methods as appropriate
- Promote the importance of music education within the school community
