The Senior Projects Engineer will oversee the design, implementation, and operationalization of engineering projects, particularly in the electrical and infrastructure sectors. This role involves coordinating engineering teams, liaising with contractors, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and managing project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that engineering projects align with UEDCL’s strategic objectives and technical standards. The Senior Projects Engineer’s work contributes directly to the successful completion of large-scale infrastructure projects, optimizing resource usage, ensuring safety compliance, and minimizing project risks.

Academic Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

•Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desired but not required.

Experience

•At least 8 years of experience in engineering project management, with a focus on infrastructure, electrical, or utility projects.

•Experience in leading and managing large, complex projects from initiation to completion.

•Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and consultants.

•Hands-on experience in design, construction, and commissioning of infrastructure projects.

•Strong understanding of project management tools, software, and methodologies (e.g., MS Project).

•Knowledge of relevant local regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements related to engineering projects.

Responsibilities

•Lead the planning and execution of engineering projects, including project scope, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

•Develop detailed project plans, including risk management, quality control, and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with UEDCL’s standards and regulatory requirements.

•Coordinate the activities of project teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure the smooth execution of projects.

•Oversee and review the design, technical specifications, and drawings for engineering projects, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications.

•Monitor project progress, ensuring that timelines, costs, and quality requirements are met, and resolve any issues or delays that may arise during implementation.

•Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, review quality control measures, and ensure adherence to safety standards.

•Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, government agencies, and internal teams.

•Review and approve engineering designs, cost estimates, project schedules, and procurement strategies.

•Perform detailed project risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks to the project’s success.

•Ensure that all project documentation, including designs, reports, and progress updates, is accurate, up to date, and accessible for review by senior management and regulatory bodies.

•Manage the procurement of materials, services, and equipment needed for project implementation.

•Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, junior engineers, and contractors.

•Prepare and submit detailed reports on project status, including cost analysis, progress updates, and any challenges or issues encountered.

•Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations during the execution of projects.

•Lead the commissioning and handover of completed projects, ensuring that they meet the specified standards and are operational before project closure.

•Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to contracts and UEDCL standards.

•Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment by promoting effective communication and teamwork among project stakeholders.

•Stay updated on the latest developments in engineering technologies, industry standards, and best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
