QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- • CPA (K) or ACCA certification (Completed or Finalist level preferred).
- • Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
- • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
- • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with approved accounting standards and company policies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, and financial reports for review by management.
- Manage general ledger entries, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and proper documentation.
- Perform regular bank, cash, and mobile money reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances promptly.
- Monitor company cash flows, prepare cash flow forecasts, and support liquidity management.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including timely preparation and filing of KRA taxes (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Corporation Tax) and statutory deductions (NSSF, NHIF where applicable).
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes, including budget preparation, tracking, variance analysis, and cost control.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and oversee asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposal in line with company policy.
- Review financial transactions to ensure proper authorization, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls.
- Support procurement and project teams by reviewing financial implications of contracts, project costs, and supplier agreements.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to management to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information at all times.
