- Manage and coordinate the daily work of the mechanical subcontractors, ensuring that all installation teams are working efficiently, safely, and in accordance with the approved program.
- Monitor site productivity and progress against the weekly and daily work plans, proactively identifying and resolving any issues related to manpower, materials, or equipment that may impact the schedule.
- Interpret complex mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure that all systems are installed correctly and in full compliance with the design intent.
Quality Control & Assurance:
- Act as the frontline enforcer of the project's quality standards for all mechanical works, conducting continuous inspections of workmanship, materials, and installation practices.
- Ensure all installations comply with project specifications and international standards (e.g., SMACNA, NFPA, IPC).
- Raise formal inspection requests (IRs) for all completed mechanical works and coordinate with the Field Engineer and QA/QC team to ensure timely approvals.
- Witness and verify key quality checks, including ductwork leakage testing, pipe pressure testing, and initial equipment pre-power checks.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Champion a culture of safety for all mechanical works, with a particular focus on high-risk activities such as heavy equipment lifting (chillers, AHUs), hot works (welding), and working in confined spaces.
- Lead daily site safety walks (Toolbox Talks) for mechanical teams, ensuring all workers are following safe work procedures and using the correct PPE.
- Review subcontractor's method statements and risk assessments for all mechanical installation activities.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all mechanical work areas.
Coordination & Reporting:
- Prepare accurate daily and weekly site reports detailing the progress of mechanical works, resource allocation, and any delays or technical challenges encountered.
- Liaise closely with the Mechanical Field Engineer to resolve technical queries and ensure all works are approved before concealment.
- Coordinate proactively with other discipline supervisors (Electrical, Civil) to ensure smooth integration of services and avoid clashes on site.
- Assist in tracking the delivery and proper storage of all major mechanical equipment and materials
