Responsibilities
- Review and validate structural designs, calculations and drawings prepared by consultants to ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards and project specifications.
- Provide structural input during concept and detailed design stages to ensure feasibility, efficiency and cost effectiveness of proposed developments.
- Coordinate with architects, project managers, quantity surveyors and contractors to ensure structural alignment with overall project design and execution plans.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor structural works and ensure compliance with approved drawings, quality standards and construction methodologies.
- Identify and resolve structural issues arising during construction and provide practical technical solutions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, method statements and material specifications for structural compliance.
- Ensure all structural works comply with relevant local building regulations, safety standards and engineering best practices.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimise structural systems, reduce costs and improve construction efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
- Assess structural risks during project lifecycle and recommend mitigation measures to project teams.
- Prepare and present technical reports, site inspection findings and structural compliance updates to management.
