The Head, Compliance & Risk is responsible for safeguarding the organization against regulatory, operational, financial, and reputational risks while ensuring strict compliance with Nigerian and international standards.
This role combines strategic leadership, regulatory oversight, and risk management to protect business continuity and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to Nigerian petroleum regulations, NUPRC, NCDMB, DPR, environmental laws, and waste management standards.
Oversee compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and NDPR data protection requirements.
Maintain strong relationships with regulators (CAC, FIRS, PENCOM, NSITF, EFCC-SCUML).
Risk Management:
Develop and implement enterprise-wide risk management frameworks.
Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, environmental, and compliance risks.
Lead crisis management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Internal Audit:
Conduct audits across financial, operational, IT, and compliance areas.
Provide independent assurance to the Board Audit Committee and senior management.
Recommend improvements to governance and internal controls.
Corporate Governance:
Advise the Board and executive leadership on compliance and governance matters.
Ensure transparent reporting, ethical practices, and accountability.
Serve as Company Secretary where required, preparing board packs, resolutions, and statutory filings.
