Husk is one of the world’s leading rural energy providers, offering low-cost and reliable power entirely from renewable sources to rural households and businesses. We design, build, and operate the lowest-cost hybrid (solar and biomass) power plants and distribution networks in India and Africa. Husk is seeking a Manager, Operational Excellence who will be responsible for all plant operations and maintenance activities. The individual must have high level of technical competency with an understanding of electrical engineering, ensuring safety and environmental inspections and preventive maintenance within Husk power plants. This position provides the opportunity to join a growing team that is changing the face of rural electrification in Nigeria and Asia. General
Reporting to the Nigeria Country Director and Global Operations Team and responsible for Uptime management, preventive maintenance, safety practices, capacity utilization, asset management, and report generation
Responsible for the smooth functioning of PV Solar/Biomass hybrid power plants and implementing effective techniques to bring efficiency to the performance of the plants.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to the company’s success by proactively managing growth plans and a bias to action.
Management of operational budget and monitoring of performance.
Management of entire Service Team across different locations and NOCs.
Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Management of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly equipment healthiness checklist;
Preventive maintenance planning; Shutdown planning; Daily reading logbook, etc.
Take over from the Projects Department.
Ability to ensure safety standards are followed at the core of operations and plan, organize, schedule, and direct the safety training and compliance at sites.
Management of overall KPIs and deliverables for operations and ensuring that the complete
team is aligned to the same.
Responsible for overall monitoring and reporting of plant and asset health and performance.
Regular interaction and engagement with other verticals especially sales to ensure and extend required support for growth of business.
Responsible for managing and ensuring security standards at the plant and enable quick turnaround time for action in case of security issues.
Responsible for management of spares and inventory components based on criticality and
lifecycle of the components.
Asset Management
Interface with the vendors/contractors to review the operation of plant equipment and systems continuously, minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure completion of technical documents; grid outages, onsite equipment problems, log
entries, site visits; and safety and environmental inspections to comply with standard operating procedures.
Interact and liaison with local authorities for smooth functioning of the plant and management of ROW issues.
B.Tech/B.Eng./MTech–Specialization: Electrical/Electronics Engineering from a reputable institution.
An MBA is an added advantage.
Should have handled operations & maintenance of solar PV plants, Biomass, and other renewable energy sources, especially micro-grids.
Should have Monitored maintenance of LT Transmission and distribution lines, protective relays & associated equipment, and inverters.
Good knowledge of solar PV Panels, Inverters, Battery banks, T&D lines, SCADA systems, and all solar electrical operational equipment.
Overall, a minimum of 12 - 15 years of relevant experience or more.
Extensive knowledge of renewable energy, instrumentation control systems, and in-depth

Location and Travel
This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria with regular travel to Husk minigrid and other operational

Based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, salary can be negotiated, if required.
