Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law.

Experience

  • 5 years total work experience of which 2 years should be in the legal sector

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of finance management.
  • Knowledge of the Ugandan Oil and Gas Industry
  • Knowledge of contractual legal requirements for Procurement related contracts
  • Knowledge and experience in Company Secretarial and Governance matters
Responsibilities
  • To ensure that our operations activities and internal Local Content Plan and Commitments (LP&C) are fully executed according to the requirements.
  • Ensure that employment and training of Ugandan & Tanzania citizens is executed as per the LCP&C and continuously monitored and reported as required
  • Ensure transfer of skills and technologies from Bureau Veritas (BV) Uganda & Tanzania experts to Local Teams is executed according to BV Uganda & Tanzania LCP & C
  • Identifying risks related to national content compliance and developing mitigation plans.
  • Supervising the development of national content plans and progress reports.
  • Liaising with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local communities on national content matters.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for local capacity building and workforce development.
  • Supporting knowledge transfer initiatives between international and local employees.
  • Tack charge and support the Regional Senior Legal Counsel, Risk and Compliance Officer with company secretarial functions for the East African (EAF) District including preparing and maintaining legal documents and registers such as board resolutions, minutes of meetings and other corporate records, monitor changes in corporate laws and regulations. Good governance is essential.
