Description

As an
international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide
operations, the federally owned Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its
development-policy objectives.

As Tanzania
faces growing environmental pressures from climate change, population growth,
and biodiversity loss, GIZ supports efforts to build resilience, protect
ecosystems, and foster sustainable livelihoods. To address these interconnected
challenges, the GIZ Isimani Cluster provides combined expertise in water
management, biodiversity conservation, the blue economy, climate change
adaptation and mitigation. Our joint office on Isimani Road in Dar es Salaam
symbolizes this commitment to collaboration and integrated solutions beyond
individual project boundaries.

Our Vision:
We foster a sustainable future in Tanzania where people and nature thrive
together. Our goal is to achieve healthy ecosystems and resilient communities
supported by integrated solutions for water security, biodiversity protection,
and climate action.

Our Mission:
In support of the United Republic of Tanzania's National Development Plans and
its Vision 2050, we strengthen the sustainable management of natural resources
and enhance climate resilience. By focusing on the interactions between
biodiversity, ecosystem services, water management, and sustainable
livelihoods, we aim to improve the quality of life for the communities we
serve. We achieve this through a multi-level approach promoting cooperation,
coordination, sustainable capacity building, and nature-based solutions for
regeneration and restoration.
