Job Qualifications & Skills

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. At least CPA Part II
  3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare or institutional setting preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  5. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  6. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
  7. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.


Responsibilities
  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards and healthcare financial regulations.
  2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  3. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  4. Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure proper cash flow management.
  5. Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate statutory remittances (PAYE, NSSF, SHIF/NHIF, Housing Levy, etc.).
  6. Support budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
  7. Strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud, financial leakage, and misappropriation of funds.
  8. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
  9. Support internal and external audits and implement corrective action plans.
  10. Monitor departmental expenditure against approved budgets.
  11. Maintain proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
  12. Provide financial data to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
  13. Assist in procurement, financial verification, and supplier payment validation.
  14. Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives in line with SafeCare accreditation standards.
