About the role

We are looking for a Finance Specialist to ensure strong financial stewardship for the Program through continuous financial monitoring, compliant expenditure tracking, timely reporting, and support to audits enabling transparent, accountable delivery of public-benefit outcomes.


Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain a financial monitoring framework for the Program

  • Maintain up-to-date expenditure tracking against budget lines; flag variances and propose corrective actions.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports (budget vs actuals, burn rate, forecasts, notes/explanations).

  • Support cashflow planning, including forecasting and alignment with activity plans.

  • Review payment requests and supporting documentation for accuracy, allowability and completeness.

  • Coordinate with procurement/admin to ensure value-for-money and documentation compliance.

  • Maintain an organized financial filing system (digital and physical) for audit readiness.

  • Support internal/external financial reviews and audits; respond to queries and provide evidence packs.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, templates, and guidance to program staff.


Qualifications & experience
  • Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting/Business (or equivalent); professional qualification (CPA/ACCA) preferred.

  • 3–5+ years in grants/program finance or project accounting.

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, donor-style reporting, and audits.

Skills & competencies
  • High attention to detail; integrity and discretion.

  • Strong Excel/financial systems skills; ability to explain financial data clearly.

  • Proactive risk identification; solution-oriented.
