The Role
We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the company's finance function that spans over several business lines and geographies. This is a senior role for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with operational excellence. At the same time, this is a role primary suited for someone who is a builder and business minded problem solver.
You will oversee financial management across Fuzu’s commercial business, international workforce solutions and donor-funded projects while ensuring strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, efficient cash management, and high-quality reporting.
Beyond managing day-to-day finance operations, you will help shape how finance supports business growth by improving systems, introducing automation and AI, strengthening controls, and building a high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the company's finance function across multiple business units and geographies in close collaboration with local accountants.
Act as the primary finance partner to the CEO, interim CFO and leadership team.
Develop financial tools and processes that support sustainable business growth.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance analysis.
Oversee client invoicing across all business lines.
Drive cash collection and accounts receivable management.
Ensure timely bank, customer and revenue reconciliations.
Monitor cash flow and working capital to support business operations.
Produce regular management reports with actionable financial insights.
Oversee financial oversight of donor-funded and externally funded projects.
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, budgets and reporting obligations.
Support project budgeting, expenditure tracking and financial reporting.
Provide financial guidance for fundraising opportunities and grant proposals.
Oversee monthly payroll in collaboration with the People team.
Ensure payroll accuracy, statutory deductions and timely remittances.
Maintain compliance with payroll regulations across relevant markets.
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Coordinate corporate tax filings, VAT and statutory reporting.
Manage annual audits and relationships with external auditors.
Maintain strong internal financial controls and governance practices.
Ensure Fuzu’s incorporation model and intra-company agreements serve the current state of the business.
Build scalable financial processes that support business growth.
Identify automation opportunities and leverage AI to improve finance operations.
Improve reporting dashboards and financial visibility for leadership.
Lead finance system improvements and documentation of key processes.
Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
Foster a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
Work cross-functionally with Operations, People, Sales and Delivery teams to improve financial performance.
Within your first 12 months you will have:
Built a scalable finance function capable of supporting multi-country growth.
Improved cash collection cycles and strengthened working capital management.
Delivered accurate monthly financial reporting with meaningful business insights.
Strengthened financial controls and compliance across all markets.
Successfully managed payroll and statutory compliance with zero major issues.
Improved project financial reporting for donor-funded initiatives.
Introduced automation and AI-driven efficiencies into finance operations.
Developed a strong, engaged and high-performing finance team.
Become a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business.
CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent professional qualification required.
MBA or Master's degree is an advantage.
Minimum of 7 years' progressive finance experience, of which last 2-3 years in leading the finance function (or team).
Experience leading finance teams and developing people.
Experience supporting multi-country operations.
Strong commercial finance experience within a growing business.
Experience managing project, grant or donor funding is highly desirable.
Experience in professional services, outsourcing, staffing, consulting, technology or other fast-growing service businesses is highly preferred.
Experience working with international clients and cross-border finance operations.
