We invite applications for the post of Assistant Human Resource Manager.
THE JOB
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management
A member of IHRM.
3 years’ experience in a busy HR department
CHRP certification will be an added advantage.
A diploma in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage
Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution, problem-solving, team building, analytical and negotiation skills.
Have a working knowledge of labour legislation and general industrial relations practice in Kenya.
- Good understanding of various standards, i.e., Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, etc.
Responsibilities
Provide timely Human Resource (HR) solutions as required by the business.
Assist the Senior Human Resource Business Partner (SHRBP) in human resource policy formulation, work procedures reviews and implementation.
Participate in formulating the Tea Estates (TE) HR budget and provide support towards implementation and compliance with the budget.
Identify staff needs, coordinate recruitment and selection, deploy & carry out induction in liaison with relevant departmental heads.
Guide management staff on industrial relations issues in close liaison with the SHRBP, e.g., Disciplinary and grievance handling processes, union & staff welfare meetings.
Guide to ensure effective and smooth implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) across the Tea Estates.
Ensure Tea Estates is compliant with various codes of practice, i.e., Rainforest, Fairtrade, etc., as relates labour standards.
Ensure adequate employee communications and engagement within the Tea Estates through respective managers and committees.
In liaison with the Talent Manager, ensure training needs are identified and addressed.
Ensure adequate career development, staff deployment/ interunit transfers and succession planning.
Maintain up-to-date employee records and employment returns.
Implement and coordinate the company performance management system and ensure staff are appraised on time.
Provide support to the payroll office by coordinating HR related information and giving guidance towards ensuring the smooth processing of pay for unionisable employees.
Participate in health and safety activities, including conducting risk assessments and
ensuring compliance with established policies
