Description
  • Oxfam in Africa is looking for a highly skilled Strategic Communications Advisor to support the Director’s external engagement and amplify Oxfam’s voice across Africa and globally.
  • This is a dynamic and high-impact role at the heart of Oxfam’s influencing work. You will shape and deliver strategic communications that enhance the Director’s profile, ensuring their engagements, ranging from high-level summits to media appearances, are impactful, coherent, and aligned with Oxfam’s priorities.
  • Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Media and Communications colleagues, and partners across the confederation, you will drive the planning, messaging, and execution of key engagements, while ensuring strong alignment between advocacy, communications, and organizational strategy.

What we're looking for

  • We are looking for a highly experienced communications professional with a strong track record in media, public engagement, and strategic influencing. You’ll bring excellent writing and editorial skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into compelling narratives for high-level audiences.
  • You are an exceptional relationship builder, able to engage confidently with senior stakeholders across governments, international institutions, and civil society and international partners. Thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, you can manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • A strategic thinker, who can identify opportunities to elevate Oxfam’s voice and maximize the impact of leadership engagements. You are value-driven, with a strong commitment to social justice, gender equality, and Oxfam’s mission. Fluency in English and French is essential; Portuguese is an advantage
